The display language of the portal website is determined by the organization language specified by the portal administrator. To view the website in your own preferred language instead of the organization language, you can do so by setting the language in your user profile, as described in the steps below. If you're an anonymous user of the portal (meaning you do not have an account in the organization), you cannot change the language.

Note:

Changing the user profile locale only updates the user interface of the portal to display in the language you prefer. To view the portal help in a language other than English, your portal administrator must download the language pack from My Esri and install it.

Number and date format

If the language in your profile is set to English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish, you can change the way numbers and dates are displayed in the ArcGIS Enterprise portal. For example, if the language is set to English, you can choose to display dates and numbers using the formats defined in the Common Locale Data Repository (CLDR) for Australia, Great Britain, Canada, or the United States.

Note:

Currently, you can only set the Number and date format option when English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish is selected as the language. The Number and date format setting is not reflected in the date values displayed in attribute tables, map labels, or animation time slices, or when viewing pop-ups. However, you can create a simple Arcade attribute expression using the Text() function to change the format of dates in pop-ups.

  1. Verify that you are signed in to the website.
  2. At the top of the site, click your name and click My settings.
  3. On the General tab, in the Language, number, and date format section, click Update.
  4. From the Language drop-down menu, choose your language preference.
  5. If you chose English, French, German, Italian, or Spanish for the Language setting, choose a locale from the Number and date format drop-down menu.

Numbers and dates are displayed in the ArcGIS Enterprise portal using the CLDR formats defined for the locale you chose.

  6. Click Save.
